Velia is a premium AI portrait studio. You upload photos of yourself and Velia creates AI-generated portraits that still look like you. Because your photos show your face, we treat them as sensitive personal data and handle them with extra care. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who processes it, and how to delete it.
Face data. The photos you upload contain your face (your facial features and likeness), which is sensitive personal data. We collect this face data for one purpose only: to generate the AI portraits, hairstyle previews and photo enhancements that you request. Your face data is processed only by Velia and our AI image-processing sub-processor, fal.ai, Inc. (United States). We never sell your face data, never share it with data brokers, never use it for advertising, and never use it to train AI models. We do not use your face for identification, facial recognition, or to build a biometric template. Source photos containing your face are automatically deleted within 7 days of upload; the generated images are kept only to deliver them to you and are removed when you delete them or delete your account.
We use your photos and account data solely to: (a) generate your enhanced portraits; (b) train and run your optional personal AI Studio model; (c) maintain your credits and account; and (d) keep the service secure and working. We rely on your explicit consent, given in-app before any photo is uploaded, and on our legitimate interest in operating the app you asked to use.
To generate portraits we send your photos to our AI image-processing provider fal.ai, Inc. (United States), which runs the image models on our behalf. This means your photos are transferred and processed outside your country, including in the United States. We share the minimum needed to produce your result and do not authorize the provider to use your data for its own purposes. We obtain your explicit consent before this transfer occurs.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal basis for processing facial images is your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a)). Where the Saudi PDPL, UAE PDPL, or similar laws apply, we process biometric/personal data on the basis of your consent and for the purpose of providing the service. You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to withdraw consent at any time (withdrawing consent or deleting your account stops further AI processing). To exercise these rights, use in-app account deletion or contact us at the in-app "Delete account" option or our App Store support page.
Photos and results are stored in private storage and transmitted over encrypted connections. Access to generated images is via short-lived signed links. We restrict internal access and never make your photos publicly accessible.
Velia is not directed to children and is rated for older users. Do not use Velia if you are under the minimum age in your region, and only upload photos of yourself or people who have consented.
We may update this policy; we will revise the date above and, where required, ask for renewed consent in-app.
